Erice, the only Sicilian town that has been inhabited since pre-history, sits 800 metres above sea level on a small peak near the coastal town of Trapani. Erice derives its charm from cobbled streets, arched passageways and stunning views over the Western Mediterranean.
Located on the western coast of Sicily, Trapani is a fishing & ferry port with a long history. Today the town is renowed for its fine seafood & Sicilian cuisine, and makes a good base for exploring this side of the island.
